Chuikhim, a little village on the southern stretch of the Kalimpong hills in Darjeeling District of West Bengal. A place which doesn’t find its place in Google maps or school geography textbooks has suddenly raised interests among the travelers and tourists. The village stretches across a couple of hills, a handful of houses and a thin water stream called the Leesh chu (Leesh river). The villagers barely met their daily needs, depending primarily on farming as their source of income. Farming in these hilly terrains is difficult and only a handful variety of crops grow. Like many other villages in this region the men spent heavily on drinking and the family struggled to meet their ends.
